Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life.
आयुर्वेद ही भारतीय प्रांतातील प्राचीन औषधी संस्था आहे. आयुर्वेदाची ऊत्पत्ती भारतात 5000 वर्षांपूर्वी झाल्याचे म्हटले जाते. आयुर्वेद हा शब्द संस्कृतच्या “आयुस” म्हणजे जीवन आणि “वेद” म्हणजे विज्ञान या दोन शब्दांचे संयोजन आहे, म्हणूनच आयुर्वेद म्हणजे “जीवनाचे विज्ञान”.
